This site is a small Next.js app. I design in the browser and build with Claude Code, then finish the details by hand.
Type
ABC Areal by Dinamo: one variable family at two weights, with Areal Mono for codes, dates and the clock. In dark mode, Areal’s DRKM axis thins the strokes, because light text on a dark ground reads heavier than it is.
Color
Black and white come from Radix Colors’ Sand scale. The only color is CSS blue. In dark mode, plain blue drops to 2.2:1 contrast, so the same hue is lifted in OKLCH to oklch(68% 0.18 264), which keeps it above 6:1.
Motion
Every hover and press shares the same 160 to 200ms timing, and only transform and opacity animate. Work images grow out of their thumbnails with a view transition, the theme crossfades, and nothing loads in with a flourish. With reduced motion on, nothing moves.
